I like the top one a lot better than the bottom, the actual text use in the bottom feels too forced. The top one looks cool, I like background, although the footprint is a bit blurry, and the text would be much stronger it it was a read a little more diagonally (moving the "something has survived" text counter clockwise like 10-15 degrees)
